Song Argument
I chose the song "White America" by Eminem because it clearly makes an argument about racism in America through his lyrics. I think that his argument is effective because he targets his message to white people, but particularly parents. The chorus of the song states, "WHITE AMERICA I could be one of your kids. WHITE AMERICA Little Erik looks just like this. WHITE AMERICA Erica loves my shit I go to TRL look how many hugs I get." He argues that his rap appeals to "White America" because he looks like them and the rap fan base is becoming more white. He also argues that if he was black then he would only sell half the amount of records.
